Rabin Ajaw 2014-2015 was selected.

With the rumble of mortar accompanied by applause and cheers, Ana Julissa PerezCholotío  was crowned Rabin Ajaw (Daughter of the King)  The stunning indigenous sovereign, who came on behalf of San Juan La Laguna, Solola, Lake Atitlan disputed the scepter against 110 candidates from 15 departments.

 The 46 folk festival, which began Saturday night and ended at 2:00am on Sunday, was celebrated in the gym of the National Institute Youth.

In celebration could not miss the “Dance of the Conquest.”

The jury chose Perez with four other finalists: Manuel Tziquín, Nahualá, Solola; Martina Perez, Joyabaj, Quiche; Juana Ortiz, San Ildefonso Ixtahuacán, Huehuetenango, and Elsa Ho, Santa Cruz Verapaz, Alta Verapaz.

Of 111 participants, five were finalists.

 

 

 

 

After The King’s Daughter was selected in the Morning was celebrated a Mass of thanksgiving in the cathedral of Santo Domingo, and then proceeded to walk the traditional ladies.

   “I thank God and my family for this scepter. A whole Guatemalan youth invite you to practice the good values, they are the foundation for growing our Guatemala, “said the new Rabin Ajaw 2014-2015.

   Hun Augustine, chairman of the festival, offered the King’s Daughter’s support during his reign. Ana, 18, is an elementary school teacher and is in his fourth semester of studies of Law and Social Sciences.
